NM DarkSky Council member to speak to local star-gazing group
RIO RANCHO — A member of the New Mexico DarkSky Council is set to give a presentation to the Rio Rancho Astronomical Society later this week.
Sarah McIntyre, who is also an award-winning photographer, will present “Chasing Starlight and Dark Skies” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 20 at the Rainbow Park Observatory, 301 Southern Blvd. The presentation, organizers said in a statement, will address “various forms of astrophotography and the importance of taking action to protect our night skies.” McIntyre, who lives in Albuquerque, will also bring her experience from the council, a chapter of DarkSky International aimed at reducing light polution.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
