The Santa Ana Thunder dropped two of three games on last week’s road trip, splitting the final two, which went into overtime.

The Thunder (4-9) are home again May 10 and 11 to meet the Enid Outlaws both nights at 7 p.m. in the Bernalillo High School gym.

Here’s how the recent road trip went:

Potawatomi 120, Santa Ana 88: The Thunder got the game’s first bucket from high-scorer Edward Oliver-Hampton, but that 2-0 score was the only time they led in their April 25 meeting in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

The unbeaten Fire (12-0), 2023’s TBL champs, shot 49% from the field and cruised to the win after assuming control with a 30-16 lead at the end of the first period.

The Fire led 60-42 at halftime, and the Thunder got as close as 12 points in the third period, which ended with Potawatomi leading 85-64.

The Fire’s lead slipped to 20 and grew to as many as 38 before the game ended.

Oliver-Hampton led the Thunder with 18 points, Joshua Brewer had 17, Darnell Rushton added 13 and Ty Sean Powell joined them in double figures with 10.

The Thunder shot 34% from the field and were outrebounded 67-52. The Fire also blocked a season-high 10 Thunder shots.

Santa Ana 107, Enid 106 (OT): Oliver-Hampton snagged a defensive rebound and followed it with a layup to give the visitors a one-point lead.

Enid missed a would-be game-winning shot, and Powell grabbed the rebound to secure the victory on April 26. Oliver-Hampton led the Thunder with 21 points, Powell finished with 18, Bradford added 16 and Bakari Evelyn had 12.

The Thunder improved their field goal percentage to 47.7, quite an improvement from the loss the night before; Enid hit 49% of its shots.

Wichita 121, Santa Ana 119 (OT): For the second time in three nights, the outcome needed more than 48 minutes to be decided.

On April 28, trailing 85-68 after three quarters, the Thunder rallied to not only catch the Sky Kings at 108-all when regulation ended, and even took a 117-116 lead late in overtime before succumbing.

Evelyn led Santa Ana with 30 points, Bradford had 22, Powell scored 18 and Oliver-Hampton added 14.

The Thunder had their best road game of the week, connecting on 49% of their shots from the field; Wichita hit on 40.5% of its shots.
