Thursday is going to be a busy day for the Rio Rancho Governing Body.

First, there will be a work session from 2-5 p.m. which will feature discussion on the recommended FY 25 budget that City Manager Matt Geisel sent to the mayor and city council last week.

The work session will also cover a review of the FY 25 Recommended, the Infrastructure and Capital Improvement Plan for FY 25-29 and the Municipal Court’s FY25 Budget Request.

Following the work session, a swearing-in ceremony for District 1 City Councilor Deborah Dapson and District 6 City Councilor Nicole List will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Rio Rancho City Hall.

Dapson and List were the winners of a runoff election earlier this month.

The governing body will then hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.

On the agenda for the meeting is a second reading of the proposed updated noise ordinance, which had its first reading approved 6-0 at the April 11 meeting.

This will also be the final governing body meeting for City Clerk Rebecca Martinez, who is retiring at the end of the month.
