Rio Rancho announces early voting in mayoral runoff
Early voting is scheduled for March 31 through April 11, three days before the runoff election on April 14
RIO RANCHO — The city of Rio Rancho has announced plans for early voting in the upcoming mayoral runoff election.
Early voting will begin March 31 and end April 11, three days before the April 14 runoff election, according to a city news release issued Wednesday. The election is between District 4 Councilor Paul Wymer and Alexandria Piland, a ward chair for the Sandoval County Democratic Party, who both received the most votes out of six mayoral candidates in the March 3 municipal election but fell short of the majority needed to win.
All locations will be open for the entire early voting period, but with some variations.
The Broadmoor Senior Center/Clerk’s Annex (3421 Broadmoor Blvd.) will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, April 4 and 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the release.
The Loma Colorado Main Library, 755 Loma Colorado Blvd., Sabana Grande Recreation Center, 4114 Sabana Grande Ave. SE, The Hub @ Enchanted Hills, 7845 Enchanted Hills Blvd., and a suite at 2345 Southern Blvd., Suite C2, will act as additional polling locations. Their hours of operation are scheduled from March 31 through April 11, Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the release.
Same-day voter registration is available at all sites, and absentee ballots can be obtained by visiting the city’s website, rrnm.gov/rrvotes, the release stated.
