RIO RANCHO — A longtime Rio Rancho- owned business is on to the next generation.

Formerly Evans Appliance Service, Vision City Appliance Service celebrated its opening March 19 at the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, though owner Richard Evans and his wife Glenda founded the new company in 2025.

But the work and family are anything but new to Rio Rancho. Evans said that his dad Bob founded the original appliance service in 1975.

“Aside from the legacy, we're very highly trained. We're factory trained and we hire wonderful people,” Evans said. “We're affordable. We're quick. They have a choice to choose someone locally here in Rio Rancho. I would like it to be us.”

Vision City Appliance services Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Bernalillo, Placitas and part of Albuquerque. However, Evans said, they go to Fort Sumner and Santa Rosa once a month “because we found that they were underserved communities and they were paying too much for service.”

He said they don’t charge any extra to go out there to service appliances.

According to the website, they provide service for refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, cooktops and built-in appliances.

Evans said the work is multigenerational and has been working toward training the next generation.

“We're very proud to be a Rio Rancho company. The community support has been overwhelming at times,” he said.
