Father arrested for attempted murder of son
Vincent Buscema, 59, of Rio Rancho, was arrested June 9 for attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and two counts of child abuse in the 1200 block of Aspen Meadows Drive.
Police received a report a man with a gun outside her home who driving a pickup truck, yelling and was shooting a firearm. He was last seen fleeing the scene toward Wilpett Drive.
Both owners of the home were found with gunshot wounds. The husband was taken to the hospital for gunshot wounds to the chest.
The wife, who was shot in the arm, told police the incident with an altercation between her husband and his father, Buscema, and showed officers text messages that transpired before things got violent.
"P---- I'm in front of your house. Guess I'll start looking. Where are you at now? Tough guy. I'll come you're not running your mouth now big boy I'm looking for you. Oh so bad---, can't even talk, heading to Hooters for start, can't find you there then I'll be in the front yard of your house, if not be in motion all night little girl!.......Ain't this fun, got something for little boy. Out front b----, if not I'll come in...," it reads in the criminal complaint filed by police.
It was also noted that kids were inside the home during the incident.
When arrested, Buscema denied shooting the couple and said he never left his home from the night before.
He could face 20 years in prison if he is convicted.
