Absentee ballots now available
Registered voters in Sandoval County can now request an absentee ballot for the Nov. 5 general election.
"Every vote counts," said Anne Brady-Romero, Sandoval County clerk. "We are here to help our voters cast their ballots securely and efficiently and in a manner that is most comfortable and convenient to them. Voting options include absentee ballot, early voting and Election Day.”
Requests for an absentee ballot can be made by visiting the New Mexico Voter Info Portal at NMVote.org. Ballots will then be mailed to the requester.
Completed ballots can be mailed or dropped off at the county clerk's office; dropped off a a drop box at the Placitas Community Library or the County Administration Complex, 1500 Idalia Road, Bernalillo; or dropped off in person at a polling site during early voting for Election Day voting.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 22, and voters should allow seven to 10 days for a mailed ballot to be delivered to the county clerk's office.
Voters can now also opt in for permanent absentee voting when requesting a ballot, Brady-Romero said, by selecting the permanent absentee ballot option. This option means an absentee ballot will automatically be mailed to the voter for every election, and the option can be changed at any time.
