Fundraisers for the families involved in the fatal Nov.13 crash
RIO RANCHO- Fundraisers for the families involved in the fatal crash on Nov.13 are sprouting up as businesses and community members try to support the Miller and Paredes families as best as they can. Here are some of the upcoming fundraisers:
Altitude Dispensary & Pharmers Quality
Local companies Altitude Dispensary and Pharmers Quality are coming together to support the Miller and Paredes families. For the month of December, customers can purchase a $10 ticket for a chance to win $500 worth of product. All proceeds will go to the Miller and Paredes family. Tickets can be purchased at Altitude Dispensary's Rio Rancho location: 1100 NM-528, Rio Rancho, NM 87144.
Turtle Mountain Brewing Co. fundraiser for both families:
UPDATE: "Turtle Mountain has raised just shy of $3,000 for the families so far. Thanks to US Foods, we will be continuing our 100% Donation Dessert offerings at our North location, 7835 Enchanted Hills, this week and adding to that total."- Turtle Mountain Brewing Co. GM Jason Stein said. "Both locations will also still happily accept “round-up” or straight donations from our guests this week. We are so proud of and humbled by the support our Rio Rancho community has offered so far."
From Nov. 22-24, order any of their top-three selling pizzas (Chimayo, Shiprock, Adam Bomb) or any size Nambé Nachos, and Turtle Mountain will donate $2 from every item sold directly to the families. Both locations will be participating and are also accepting direct or “round-up” donations. Thanks to a generous donation from US Foods, Turtle Mountain will be offering desserts with 100% of proceeds going to the fundraising effort. Red velvet, rainbow sprinkle or carrot cake are available. Turtle Mountain is located at 905 36th Place SE off Southern Boulevard and 7835 Enchanted Hills Boulevard NE.
Food truck event at ABQ Food Park: A fundraising event to support the Miller and Paredes families is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at the ABQ Food Park. Eighteen food trucks will be in attendance. Also, a bounce house, games, music will be on site, and 10% of all proceeds will go to helping both families. The food park is located at 6901 San Antonio Drive NE in Albuquerque. Food trucks in attendance include Mobiyaki, Takoroto, Mugsys, Fusion tacos, A+plus Crepes, BYOMAC&CHEESE, SIPPS LEMONADE, Vada Chennai, Ruby Reds vegan, Street Food Institute, Randi’s Food Truck, Los Alebrijes, Sourpuss Lemonade, Mimi’s Sweet Treats, Wanna Taco Bout Burgers, Smoking Wet BBQ, Nico’s Street Food, Brunch Bunch Food Truck, Zia Strong Snac Shac, Madonna’s Muffins, Simply Delicious, Desserts & Coffee, Madhouse Mama Soaps, Kool Sips, and Jody’s Glass & Resin Art.
Sunset Little League's Help Support the Millers Raffle for a Cause: Sunset Little League is raffling a a 18-cubic-foot GE top mount refrigerator. Another food truck event: Event organizer Selina Wade, Sourpuss Lemonade, The Brain Freezer, The Original Chicano Dog and The Dough Box are planning a fundraising event to support both families. The event will include food trucks, vendors and a ceremony to thank the first responders. Wade also shared that they reached out to Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull to see if he make an appearance. The date and location of this event are yet to be set.
