RIO RANCHO — The city of Rio Rancho has announced “Fall Festival,” a celebration of the start of the new season with plenty of activities for families and people of all ages.

The event is scheduled for 2-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Campus Park, 2516 King Blvd. NE, according to a Facebook post from the city. Admission is free.

Fall Festival will include food truck vendors, live music and fall-themed activities such as a Halloween costume contest, pumpkin carving and children’s cakewalk, the social media post said. The event will also help launch a new Autumn Artisans’ Market.

“Trunk or Treat” features vehicle trunks to store candy to be passed out to children. The rules for those interested in participating are that their car must be pre-registered, decorated with a Halloween theme, and include enough candy to feed 1,000 children, according to the post, where the link to register can be accessed.

Admission to Fall Festival is free. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the event can be accessed via Unser/King Boulevard and Paseo del Volcan/Broadmoor Boulevard.
