LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Stansbury's beliefs are what is abnormal

New Mexicans were embarrassed by the egregious behavior of our all-Democrat congressional delegation during the president’s address to a joint session of Congress on March 4. Their Donald Trump hatred has caused them to lose any modicum of common sense and social decency: unable to applaud or stand for introductions of the first lady, a 13-year-old cancer survivor, the mother of Laken Riley, the mother of a 12-year-old who was slaughtered by illegal gang members, or a high school senior who was appointed to West Point. How pitiful!

But the most egregious was CD1 Rep. Stansbury. She intended that her sign that read “This is not normal” apply to the president, but it is rather her positions and policies that are abnormal. Applauding “gender-affirming” mutilation of young boys and girls is not normal. Encouraging biological males to savage women sports is not normal. Harboring and encouraging illegal immigrants, including hardcore criminals, is not normal. Refusing to acknowledge that there is fraud, waste and abuse in federal agencies is not normal.

Proclaiming “Bull----” in a televised congressional hearing when crime statistics showed that we are safer without illegal murderers, rapists and child molesters in our midst is not normal. Celebrating the loss of unborn humans in abortuaries up until milliseconds before natural birth is not normal. Why does Rep. Stansbury insist on protecting illegal criminals instead of law-abiding citizens? Unquestionably, that is not normal behavior!

We need better from our U.S. representatives and senators, and perhaps it is about time that we have a new set of them!
