Published

PLACITAS — There will be a musical story time at Placitas Community Library at 2 p.m. March 1.

The free performance, a production of the Opera Makes Sense program for kids ages 3-11, is open to Rio Rancho and Albuquerque in addition to Placitas, according to a release.

The Placitas performance will be a reading of "Octopus Stew," written by Eric Velasquez. The story will be read by Amy Owens, director of the Young Voices of the Santa Fe Opera. "Throughout the story, the Young Voices will perform songs, adding to the excitement and drama of the book," it reads.

It states past productions include "Pete the Cat: The Great Leprechaun Chase" by James Dean and "Ground Hog’s Runaway Shadow" by David Biedrzycki.

Seating and parking are limited at the library so attendees are instructed to get there early to get a space and a seat up front. They also requested an RSVP to childrens@placitaslibrary.com giving the parent’s full name and the number of children and adults in each group.
