Daymon Ely
By Rio Rancho Observer
Ely (D - Corrales) served as a state representative since 2017, but decided to not run for re-election in 2022.
Describing the state's political scene as "sophisticated" and "thoughtful," Ely said he was proud to help pass major legislation pertaining to conservator guardianship reform, criminal justice reform and ethics, and to also help eliminate predatory lending.
He also said his time on the Sandoval County Commission (2000-2004) helped him learn how to exhibit patience working at the state level.
