United States Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury will be in Corrales Tuesday to meet with constituents, listen to concerns and give an update on what she is doing in Congress.

Stansbury was re-elected to serve in New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District in November. The district includes Corrales, which is also where her mother lives.

“Coffee with your Congresswoman” will be from 10-11 a.m. at Fancies Bakery and Modern Market. The public will have an opportunity to meet with Stansbury and her staff.

According to her campaign site, “Stansbury is a proud New Mexican who has spent her career working to protect our lands and waters and address the critical issues facing our communities.”

“She’s very good, she’s appropriate for the village because of her background,” Corrales Mayor James Fahey said. “She’s very aware of what’s going on in the state as far as water issues and farming kind of struggling.”
