SCSO makes residential burglary arrest in Peña Blanca
PENA BLANCA — A woman was arrested for burglarizing a Peña Blanca home.
The Sandoval County Sheriff's Office shared a residential burglary arrest on social media Feb. 16.
Beverly Gallegos, 40, of Peña Blanca, was arrested for residential burglary, larceny, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools on Abrevadero Road, according to a criminal complaint.
Deputies interviewed the homeowner, who told police they returned from out of town and discovered an unknown female inside her residence. The suspect had unlawfully entered the home, utilized personal amenities, and stole money and keys before fleeing the scene.
A deputy identified the suspect as Gallegos and later located her at a separate residence in Peña Blanca, where she was taken into custody. She was found with stolen currency and keys belonging to the victim’s residence.
Gallegos could face more than six years if she is convicted.
