One person was injured after an accident involving three vehicles near the intersection of Highway 528 and Sundt Road Wednesday afternoon.

The unidentified person was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Rio Rancho Police Department Lt. Jacquelynn Reedy said.

All the vehicles were damaged and towed away.

The roadway has since reopened.

The case remains under investigation.
