Town halls scheduled for RR mayor and council candidates

The events are scheduled for Feb. 3 and 5

RIO RANCHO — Two town hall meetings featuring Rio Rancho mayor and council candidates are scheduled for early next month.

The Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum Feb. 3, and NAIOP will host a "meet the candidates" gathering Feb. 5, as part of its monthly roundtable event.

The NAIOP meet is scheduled from 7:30.-9 a.m. at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, 2400 Unser Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho.

The Chamber forum, in partnership with the Rio Rancho Observer, is set to take place at the Rio Rancho Public Schools District Office Training Facility, 500 Laser Road SE. Candidates for Rio Rancho Governing Body District 5 will meet at 5 p.m. before the mayoral candidates will meet at 6 p.m. It will be live streamed by KDSK and on the Observer Facebook and YouTube pages.

All candidate invites for contested races have been accepted. 

Additionally, the Observer has placed separate one-on-one interview invitations to District 2 councilor Jeremy Paul Lenentine (incumbent) and District 3 city councilor Bob Tyler (incumbent), who are both running unopposed.
