Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel hosting NM Treasurer’s conference next week
The New Mexico Association of Counties Treasurer’s Affiliate Conference kicks off next week at Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel.
The conference provides the treasurers from all 33 of New Mexico’s counties the opportunity to gather; to share ideas and best practices; to participate in workshops on educational, technical and legislative topics; and to network with other counties and professionals in the field. The goal of the conference provide necessary information and tools to better serve the residents New Mexico.
Opening ceremonies will be 1 p.m. Tuesday will feature the following special guests:
- Santa Ana Pueblo Gov. Nathan Garcia
- Navajo Nation Vice President Richelle Montoya
- Navajo Nation Ojo Encino Chapter President George Werito
- Sandoval County Commissioners Katherine A. Bruch, District 1, and Joshua Jones, District 5
- Sandoval County elected officers Linda Gallegos, assessor; Anne Brady-Romero, clerk; Jesse James Casaus, sheriff; and Sandoval County Manager Wayne Johnson
State Rep. Derrick Lente will present a legislative update at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
State Sen. David Ivey-Soto will discuss possible legislation for a special fund specifically for county treasurers and changes to the Delinquent Property Installment Agreements at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
There are several other presentations and activities planned for the conference, which concludes at noon on Friday.
