Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office arrests Ponderosa resident on murder charges

Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office reported Jan. 31 that a Ponderosa resident has been arrested on murder charges. David Salazar, who was convicted of first-degree murder earlier this year, will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 25.

Judge George Eichwald initially said the date would be sometime in late August, but according to the court records Eichwald, just set a date Friday.

The defense team has filed a motion — specific details on it are not yet available — which will be heard at the sentencing.
