RIO RANCHO — The Rio Rancho Police Department posted to Facebook Jan. 14 confirming the arrest of an alleged car thief.

Isiah Lucero, 29, was arrested for conspiracy to commit aggravated fleeing law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and receiving or transferring stolen motor vehicles. A criminal complaint, which would detail the incident and arrest, has not loaded in the court system yet.

"Great police teamwork between the Rio Rancho Police Department and the Albuquerque Police Department which led to the successful apprehension of two suspects in a stolen vehicle. With a coordinated effort between air support and patrol officers on the ground, the suspects were safely located and taken into custody," the post states.

RRPD said the operation highlights the power of multi-jurisdictional teamwork combining real-time aerial support with boots-on-the-ground policing to protect our communities and bring incidents to a safe resolution.

This story will be updated when a criminal complaint is available.
