Rio Rancho man arrested for fraud at Santa Ana Casino
SANTA ANA PUEBLO — On Jan. 18, Sant Ana Pueblo police officers entered Santa Ana Casino and arrested Rio Rancho resident Victor Luna-Solis, 24, for check fraud, possession of a stolen ID, possession of a stolen weapon by a felon and possession of a stolen vehicle by a felon after the casino called police for a man who was attempting to cash a fraudulent check.
When police arrived, they found Luna-Solis with a loaded pistol. Officers ran the firearm's serial number, which came back as stolen.
According to the arrest report, Luna-Solis attempted to cash a check for $200 at the casino. The check belonged to another, unnamed Rio Rancho resident. A search by officers found three additional checks belonging to the unnamed resident, as well as that person's ID.
Officers also determined the 1994 Mitsubishi in Luna-Solis's possession had been reported stolen. Additionally, officers identified Luna-Solis as a registered felon.
If convicted, Luna-Solis could face more than 15 years just for the identity theft charge.
