Pooch Plunge makes pups paddle
RIO RANCHO — The annual city pooch plunge and adopt-a-thon is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 6 at Haynes Pool to mark the pool's end of season.
There will also be animal rescue groups and shelters on site to try to find homes for animals.
All non-food vendors must be selling pet-related items. There will be food trucks as well. People are not allowed in the pool with their dogs.
Pets without current vaccination papers will not be admitted into the pool area. There is only registration on site, the day of the event. All dogs must be leashed and handled by an owner age 16 and older if not in the pool area.
