RIO RANCHO — Rio Rancho police and fire crews responded to a residence with a dead body inside Tuesday morning, according to unnamed officials familiar with the matter.
The body was found inside a home on Clark Hills Drive Northeast in Rio Rancho, according to officials. A cause of death has not been released.
At 8:45 a.m., Crews responded to a structure fire where smoke and fire were found in the attic.
A social media post from Rio Rancho Fire and Rescue stated "crews are on the scene working a structure fire in the area of Enchanted Hills Blvd. and Santa Fe Dr. RRFD and other agencies will be on the scene for an extended period of time. If you can please avoid the area."
The case does not present a threat to the public, officials said.
The Rio Rancho Police Department did not immediately respond to an email seeking further information. RRFR Lt. Sean Gerdemann more details will be released as the investigation continues.
