NM’s COVID test positivity rate continues downward trend

New Mexico’s COVID-19 test positivity rate numbers continue to trend downward.
According to a press release from the state Department of Health, Friday’s statewide test positivity rate was 8.1 percent — down 0.6 percent from Thursday.
The state added 453 new cases Friday, including 38 in Sandoval County. ZIP codes 87124 (southern Rio Rancho) was tied for the state’s third-highest case count by ZIP code, with 15. ZIP code 87144 (northern Rio Rancho) had the state’s fifth-highest case count by ZIP code, with 14.
Five of the state’s 30 COVID-related deaths on Friday were Sandoval County residents.
As of Friday, 304 people are hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19.
