RIO RANCHO — A Rio Rancho lawmaker will host a town hall next week for New Mexico Department of Transportation officials to share with the community results of a traffic study and interim solutions to a deadly corridor on NM-528.

Rep. Alan Martinez, R-Rio Rancho, will lead the meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Road NE, according to a news release.

The meeting will examine the study that was conducted by an outside consulting group and interim solutions crafted by NMDOT officials.  New Mexico Department of Transportation Secretary Ricky Serna and department staff will present at the meeting.

Last month, Martinez sent a letter to NMDOT Secretary Ricky Serna demanding the results of the study be released. NMDOT officials promised to meet with community members following the lawmaker's letter and questioning from Rio Rancho Governing Body members.
