Lujan meets with local leaders
Sen. Ben Ray Lujan met with Rio Rancho City Council and Sandoval County Commission members on April 12 to discuss current local issues and concerns.
“Today’s meetings are one of the most important parts of my job – hearing from leaders on the ground about what they need from the federal government to continue supporting their communities,” Lujan said.
Lujan met with Mayor Gregg Hull and City Manager Matt Geisel as well as County Commissioners Dave Heil and Joshua Jones.
He discussed how federal investments have impacted local communities in Rio Rancho with Hull and Geisel.
“In Rio Rancho, we talked about how they have the second-fastest-growing community and how policies and infrastructure must keep up with their needs. Next, I met with Sandoval County leaders to discuss prioritizing investments in our local governments and ensuring that funding makes it to those areas intended,” he said.
Hull added that infrastructure and the aquifer injection system were the primary topics as well as updates on city projects.
“We were very grateful to meet with the senator,” he said.
