RIO RANCHO — A local automotive technician received recognition by the national corporation he works for.

Big O Tires announced Dec. 16 that Nathan Warshawsky is the franchise system’s 2025 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician of the Year.

Warshawsky has more than 20 years of experience as an automotive technician and spent 11 of those years at the Leeds West-run Rio Rancho Big O Tires, according to a release.  He has been ASE-certified for 18 years and has earned its prestigious Master Certification. Warshawsky also has an Associate of Occupational Studies degree from Universal Technical Institute.

“Nathan approaches each repair with the same care and attention to detail he would want for his own friends and family. His mission is simple: to keep people safe, keep them informed, and treat them with respect. We are proud to have him on our team and to celebrate this well-deserved honor,"  a regional operations manager for Leeds West stated in the release.

Warshawsky is one of 56 automotive professionals in the country recognized by the ASE during its annual Service Professionals Awards at The DeSoto in Savannah, Georgia, it states.

Qualified technicians are selected based on criteria such as ASE test scores, dedication to total customer satisfaction, community involvement and more.

ASE is a nonprofit organization that aims to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through testing and certifying automotive professionals. There are nearly 250,000 ASE-certified technicians across the country, according to the release.
