RIO RANCHO — After celebrating it's 10-year anniversary last year, Life.Church is looking to move.

In a Jan. 5 email, Director of Public Relations Rachel Feuerborn explained that there will still only be one Rio Rancho location, now on Westside Boulevard.

"I should clarify some of the inaccuracies that have been reported so far. This will not be a second location, but a new building for our existing Life Church Rio Rancho family," she wrote.

The Rio Rancho Governing Body unanimously approved a site plan for the new Life.Church on Westside as part of "The Village" development master plan. According to the plan, the building would span 40,000 square feet on a 6.5-acre parcel.

The current Northern Boulevard building will remain, though future plans for it are unclear. Feuerborn stated she did not want to say it was closing exactly, but didn't know what it would used be for.

"We're still in very early stages," she said.

The new location will include 700 seats and won't likely be completed until 2027, she added.

"We’re always looking ahead and planning for the future, especially in areas where Life.Church is already thriving," Feuerborn said.

She said the reason they don’t share more about land purchases early in the process is so the church can stay flexible and thoughtful about next steps and be prepared for multiple scenarios in the future.

It is unclear when construction will begin. Feuerborn said it is unlikely the public will get any updates for the rest of the year.
