Heat advisory issued for Rio Rancho
The Albuquerque National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Metro area, including Rio Rancho, that will last until 7 p.m. June 6.
Temperatures of up to 102 degrees are expected into the evening. Hot temperatures may cause heat illness. Never leave pets or people in hot vehicles.
The weather service advises these precautions:
- Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned areas, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
- Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning and late evening. Take action when you see signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
