SANDOVAL COUNTY — It will be cold Tuesday night, according to the Albuquerque National Weather Service.

According to freeze watch alert, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 21 degrees are possible in portions of central New Mexico, including Rio Rancho, from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The service said frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

"Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing, wrap, drain or allow them to drip slowly," it adds.
