Fire remains a concern for Corrales

With fire remaining a big concern for the village of Corrales, the Corrales Bosque Advisory Commission has put up several signs instructing residents to “be vigilant” and to “protect our village.”
The signs are intended to help maintain our awareness and focus on preventing fires.
“We have an excellent fire department with well-trained firefighters who are dedicated and focused on protecting the village,” Corrales Mayor James Fahey said. “I would like to think of our preparations as insurance and hope to never have to put their skills or the village’s ability to deliver the water to the test.”
Fahey wants residents to know that the bosque is at risk and they must be alert and concerned.
There is no smoking of any kind, including electronic cigarettes, in the Bosque. Also, no campfires, lighters or barbeque grills are allowed.
