Enchanted Hills Blvd. traffic pattern raises concerns from residents
Some Rio Rancho residents have expressed concern over the new Enchanted Hills traffic patterns as reconstruction begins.
According to the city of Rio Rancho, the Enchanted Hills Blvd. project started less than a month ago, so the 11-month project is on track but still in the very early stages.
“All traffic control set up for the project adheres to federal guidelines, but we will continue to monitor the situation and make updates as needed,” City Communications Specialist Jaley Turpen said.
Additionally, Rio Rancho Police Department has added more units to patrol the area for traffic violations.
The current traffic pattern has the eastbound lanes closed and westbound traffic open to both traffic directions. Westbound Enchanted Hills Blvd. is divided by two yellow lines, which narrows lanes down to one on each side. The yellow lines mean passing is not acceptable in either direction.
Turning and traffic lights remain the same for now.
