County adoptables to be available in Bernalillo holiday event

BERNALILLO — Sandoval County Animal Care Services will join thousands of animal organizations worldwide in the annual Blue Buffalo Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive Dec. 20.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bernalillo Museum that day, according to a release.

“This pet adoption event is special because the Blue Buffalo Home 4 the Holidays brings to light the joy of pet adoption and provides an opportunity to share information about the challenges that animal shelters face year-round, and especially during the holidays. We are proud to participate in this amazing campaign as we are dedicated to finding loving, fur-ever homes for the pets now in our care,"  said Jayme Espinoza, Sandoval County Director of Community Services. 

Adoptables Dusty, Luna and Peaches, all dogs, will be at the event.

According to Sandoval County Animal Care Services, the Blue Buffalo Home 4 the Holidays adoption event will feature adoptable dogs, free gifts for dogs and cats, and a special Santa Dog guest for holiday pet photos.

The Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive began with a growing concern for the number of rescue facilities that closed during the holiday season. The Home 4 the Holidays Campaign asks rescue facilities to keep their doors open and get the word out, according to the release.
