Corrales firefighters collects food, presents
The Corrales Fire Department’s food and gift drive is up and running through Dec. 21.
Each year, with local residents’ help, the fire department supports families in need throughout the year and during the holidays. They provide not only holiday meals, but also food to assist families when children are home more from school and thus not getting school lunches, as well as help with energy costs increasing due to cold weather.
Families get needed items such as clothing and shoes as well as gifts.
The Giving Tree is set up at Village Hall, 4324 Corrales Road. Food, monetary or gift-card donations can be taken to the fire station at 4920 Corrales Road.
People can also contact fire department Commander Tanya Lattin at 505-702-4182 or Tlattin@corrales-nm.org if you want more information or a child’s gift information. Checks should be made out to Kiwanis Club or Corrales Foundation with “fire dept drive” in the memo line.
