Citizen's Police Academy taking applications

RIO RANCHO — The Rio Rancho Police Department announced Dec. 23 that the next Citizen's Police Academy is scheduled and open for applications.
The academy begins Feb. 17 and runs until April 21 and will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays.
A Facebook post states there will be presentations from SWAT, K-9, Criminal Investigations, Crisis Intervention Team, Quality of Life, Emergency Communications and more.
The submission deadline for applications is Feb. 10, and students will have an opportunity to ride along with an RRPD officer for five hours.
