Bob Tyler to seek third term on Rio Rancho council
RIO RANCHO — Rio Rancho Councilor Bob Tyler announced Friday that he will run for a third term on the Rio Rancho Governing Body.
Tyler, a retired law enforcement officer and Navy veteran, stated in a news release that he wants to “keep building on the progress” made in the city and District 3, which he represents, during his past two terms.
“I am asking for your continued support. I will continue to work to build and repair roads, bring new businesses, and develop vital city services never before seen in the north end of Rio Rancho,” Tyler said in the release.
Before being elected to council in 2018 and 2022, he previously served on the city’s Planning and Zoning Board, the Middle Region Council of Governments, and the Sandoval Regional Medical Center Advisory Board. Tyler was recently appointed by the governing body to serve on the board of directors for the New Mexico Municipal League, of which Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull serves as president.
Rio Rancho’s municipal election is set for March 3, 2026.
