Bird migration topic of next PCL talk

PLACITAS — The next talk at Placitas Community Library will cover bird migration on March 21 at 10 a.m.

The Bird Alliance of Central New Mexico and the Jardineros Birding Buddies will present on migration patterns, including how Albuquerque is in the path of the Central Flyway for spring and fall migration on March 21.

Dr. Laura Banks, the president of the Bird Alliance of Central New Mexico, will be there to present and answer questions.  Banks has degrees in veterinary medicine and public health and conducts wildlife field studies and raptor rehabilitation and addressed human/animal conflicts on behalf of local government.

The Bird Alliance is a local nonprofit organization and a chapter of the National Audubon Society with a mission to protect and conserve birds and wildlife habitats in the region, support responsible stewardship of land, promote environmental education, and welcome all communities to join in the love and appreciation of birds.

The presentation is set for 10 a.m. March 21 at the library, 453 Hwy. 165, Placitas.
