Amateur Astronomy topic of next RRAS meeting
RIO RANCHO — The Rio Rancho Astronomical Society will host its regular monthly meeting Aug. 29 at Rainbow Park Observatory behind rainbow pool.
This time the topic will be Amateur Astronomy as presented by RRAS member Darin Templet.
"The presentation will cover the basics of observing as well as what equipment is needed and, more importantly, what equipment is not needed," a release states.
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Telescopes will be available for public stargazing after the meeting, weather permitting.
