Choruses looking for new members

RIO RANCHO — Rio Rancho Youth Chorus and Children’s Chorus of Rio Rancho are accepting new members its upcoming season, which kicks off Jan. 17. 

The first day will include rehearsal will be held for the kids and informational meetings for the guardians/parents. The Children’s Chorus, for second through fifth grades, will run 12:30-1:30 p.m. The Youth Chorus, for those in sixth through 12 grades, will be 2-3:30 p.m. Both will meet at the Star Heights Recreation Center. 

Both choruses are looking for male and female singers and will accept new members until Feb. 16.

 If people can’t make it Jan. 17, they can stop by any Saturday rehearsal by Feb. 16. 

The chorus accepts singers of all experience levels, abilities, genders, identities, backgrounds, cultures and orientations. There are no auditions. 

Rio Rancho Youth Chorus and Children’s Chorus of Rio Rancho are community chorale ensembles for those living in the Rio Rancho area. Each season ends with two concerts, and the choruses regularly perform at other events in Rio Rancho and around New Mexico.

There is an enrollment fee with discounts for early birds.
