New indoor baseball facility in Corrales
Goatheads Baseball invested into building a new baseball training facility in Corrales.
CORRALES — The Goatheads Baseball Program opened “The Goathouse” an indoor baseball training facility in Corrales, which is open to any of the Goathead baseball teams.
“When we walked into the space, we knew right away this was it. It wasn’t polished or flashy, but it had the bones and the feel of what we wanted to build. Something a little gritty but full of potential. Just like our kids,” said Kyle Hartsock said, the Goatheads co-founder and baseball coach.
The Goatheads Baseball Club is a sports organization based in Rio Rancho that consists of 10 teams and 130 athletes ranging from ages 9-14. Each team plays a 16-game season along with three local tournaments per season.
“Our goal is to make high-level training feel fun and accessible, not intimidating. We want kids to walk in and feel like, ‘This is our place.’ The Goathouse gives us that,” Hartsock said.
The Goathouse features Rapsodo technology for hitting and pitching, Blast Motion bat tracking and Driveline-certified coaches.
“Of course, we want kids to learn the game and get better, but the real goal is to build confidence, character and a place where they feel like they belong,” Hartsock said.
The Goatheads also said that they are in the early stages of launching a girls softball division which will feature the “Lady Goats.”
The Goathouse is located at 325 Academy Drive, Corrales. For more information, visit nmgoats.com or follow them on social media platforms.
