UPDATE: Bernalillo police investigate homicide that prompted shelter in place

UPDATE: Bernalillo Police are investigating a July 28 homicide at Rotary Park near the Bernalillo Senior Center that prompted a shelter in place.

"Police received a report of a shooting around 8:40 p.m. Officers found one person dead at the scene and another person was taken to the hospital," a July 29 social media release states.

Bernalillo Police are urging anyone with information on this case to call 505-898-7585.

Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.

The shelter in place has been lifted.

BERNALILLO — The town of Bernalillo is on a shelter in place, according to a Facebook post from the police department.

The order is for residents east of the Rio Grande until further notice.

The post states that Bernalillo Police are pursuing a potentially violent criminal and that they will provide more updates as they become available.
