Got a telescope? Then, this is the place for you!

RIO RANCHO- The Rio Rancho Astronomical Society (RRAS) will hold its general meeting Jan. 10, 2025 at the Rainbow Park Observatory, located behind Rainbow Pool.

“If you have a telescope, new or old, and don’t know how to work with it, come on down,” says RRAS vice president Melanie Templet.

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m., and RRAS members will be on hand to assist attendees with telescope operation and telescopic observing, weather permitting.

Some possibilities for viewing at that time, according to the American Meteor Society, include the approaching Wolf Moon (Jan.13) and the Quarantids meteor shower, which is set to peak between Jan. 2-3.
