Coronado Historic Site hosting Kuaua Pueblo corn program
The Coronado Historic Site and the ruins of Kuaua Pueblo are located in Bernalillo.
BERNALILLO — The Coronado Historic Site will host a program where people can learn about corn from the Kuaua Pueblo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 7.
“This month learn about the main crop grown at Kuaua Pueblo — corn! Enjoy corn roasted in the horno, or outdoor adobe oven, learn about the corn plants in the demonstration garden, and make a corn-inspired craft,” an announcement on the event states.
It adds that the program offers visitors an opportunity to learn the traditions of the people who once lived in the ancient Kuaua Pueblo.
The program is part of the first Sunday of the month for family-friendly programming on topics related to the history of the site.
