PLACITAS- The Placitas Community Library (PCL) Art Committee will host its fourth annual "Legacy Artist Exhibition" Jan. 4-30, featuring artwork from Placitas residents Bunny and Leland Bowen.

The exhibition will take place in PCL's Grace Lee Community Room, and a reception will be held Jan. 12 from 1-3 p.m.

Many of the works in the Gracie Lee Community Room exhibition will be available for purchase, with a portion of sales going to benefits the PCL.

The Bowen's are the founding members of the Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas, and have been producing art for over fifty years. In 1970, they learned basic metal smithing, casting, and stone-setting in a family jewelry business. Bunny's focus was the design, while Leland focused on engineering.

Bunny has taught fiber art at Ghost Ranch, and was part owner of The Piñon Tree Gallery and later a member of Amapola Artist Co-op, both of which are located in Old Town Albuquerque.

The Bowen's' artwork is featured in galleries in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, and across the East Coast.

Locally, they've participated in the Placitas Holiday Show, the Placitas Studio Tour, the "Art in the Mountain" and "Placitas Artists Series" exhibits.

PCL is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
