After-school programs now offered in Bernalillo Public Schools
BERNALILLO — All elementary schools throughout the Bernalillo Public School (BPS) District now offer the B.R.I.D.G.E. after-school program and celebrated its grand opening Nov. 11.
The acronym “B.R.I.D.G.E.” stands for building, relationships, independence and development through group engagement. Elementary schools in the BPS District include Algodones, Bernalillo, Cochiti, Placitas, Santo Domingo Elementary School and W.D. Carroll.
Tuition is free for the first month, and after that it will be $50 per week per child starting Dec. 11. The program is available to students in pre-k through sixth grade, and enrollees must be a student at the respective school.
The B.R.I.D.G.E. program strives to offer students a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive academically, socially and physically.
While at the B.R.I.D.G.E. program, students will complete school work with staff members, and engage in enrichment activities to aid personal growth and development. Snacks are provided.
The B.R.I.D.G.E. program runs Monday through Friday, and varies as far as start time, but all end at 5 p.m.
