What's up this weekend? A look at what's going on around Sandoval Co. March 6-9
1. Get an early start on the weekend Thursday night with Jeff Dunham, who is bringing his Artificial Intelligence Tour to the Rio Rancho Events Center.
Dunham has performed live in front of over 7.7 million people across 1,500-plus performances between June 2007 through June 2024. He’s completed a total of nine international tours with shows in more than twenty different countries,
Beyond the stage, Dunham has filmed 12 record-breaking comedy specials and currently holds three of the top five highest-rated programs on Comedy Central. His specials have garnered nearly 2.5 billion views across all digital and broadcast platforms.

2. Cleveland High School opens its production of “Pippin” this weekend.
“Pippin” is a fourth-wall-breaking musical built around the premise of a performance troupe, led by the Leading Player, who tells the story of Pippin, a young prince searching for meaning and significance.
Originally created specifically for student theater troupes, “Pippin” has undergone numerous rewrites and changes over the decades since it was first produced in 1972 at Carnegie Mellon University. The play has come back into fashion in recent years after a Broadway production of it in 2013 won numerous Tony Awards.
Shows are 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at CHS Black Box. Additional shows will be held March 13-15.
3. The New Mexico Runners are hosting Local Heroes Day Sunday at the Rio Rancho Events Center. There will be free admission for police, fire, EMS, military, dispatch, corrections officers, nurses and doctors. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. with kickoff at 3:05 p.m.
