RRHS gets another girls soccer coach
Jenna Sievers is the new girls' soccer coach at RRHS.
RIO RANCHO — Rio Rancho High School announced April 12 that Jenna Sievers will be the new head girls soccer coach for the Rams soccer program.
She replaces Michael Gonzales, who led the team to a 6-13-1 overall record in 2023; Todd Doss was the head coach in 2022 (9-10-1), after the program’s original head coach, Uwe Balzis, announced his resignation.
Sievers played at the collegiate level for four years at Eastern New Mexico University, where she was twice named to the Lone Star Conference All-Tournament team.
She began her teaching and coaching career at Clovis High School, where she taught mathematics and served as an assistant coach for soccer and track and field. She then relocated to Cibola High School, where she was an assistant soccer coach on both the boys’ and girls’ side, and was the head girls track and field coach while also teaching mathematics.
Last season, Sievers served as the varsity assistant coach for the RRHS girls soccer program, headed that season by Michael Gonzales. She is also an assistant track and field coach at RRHS, where Gonzales is the head coach, and she imparts her passion for mathematics as a dedicated teacher as well.
“We are very excited to see what coach Sievers brings to the table for our outstanding Rams soccer program,” said Todd Resch, RRPS executive director of athletics. “She has been a strong asset of the district thus far and we are confident in her abilities to take the program to new heights.”
