The New England Patriots signed Rio Rancho native Keshawn Banks to their practice squad on Wednesday.

A 6-foot-3, 255-pound linebacker, Banks joins the Patriots after spending last season, his first in the NFL, with the Green Bay Packers. The 24-year-old spent all of the regular season on the Packers practice squad and made his NFL debut in a 24-21 playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

A two-time All-Mountain West honoree, Banks recorded 42 tackles for loss as a defensive end at San Diego State from 2019-2022. He was recruited by the Aztecs out of Rio Rancho High School, where he won a state championship in 2016 and was rated as a three-star recruit.
