Kathy Shallenberger tapped as Cleveland activities director
A Grizzly is joining the Storm family.
Kathy Shallenberger is being named the new activities director at Cleveland High School.
“The various roles I've held within RRPS have prepared me well for this new position. I intend to uphold the traditions that have contributed to CHS’s success while also introducing fresh ideas. My goal is to create lasting memories for the students and their families during their time at V. Sue Cleveland High School just as I fondly remember my experiences at my high school,” Shallenberger said.
However, she is no stranger to Cleveland’s electric blue. Her husband, Shane Shallenberger, is the school's head baseball coach who has more than 300 wins under his belt as well as some coach of the year awards.
“I’m thrilled about being the new site activities director for Cleveland High School. My journey with the Storm began alongside my husband, Shane Shallenberger, who was hired as the first head baseball coach. Our family has spent a lot of time at Cleveland High, fostering an exciting atmosphere and building cherished traditions,” Shallenberger said.
Also, her son, Treston Shallenberger, was a five-year starter for the Storm Baseball team with a long list of accolades, including being named the district player of the year twice, a 2two-time first team All-State, and was the 5A state player of the year, just to name a few. He also played collegiately at Gateway Community College, where he was the male athlete of the year, MVP, offensive player of the year, a two-time first-team All-Region (D2), and second team All-ACCAC.
Shallenberger worked at Vista Grande Elementary, home of the Grizzlys, for 16 years, and now joins the Cleveland Storm family.
“I’m so excited to reconnect with my former students and all those who walked the halls at VGE. While I do often see many of them at CHS during extracurricular activities, I’m excited to now have the opportunity to see them more frequently,” Shellenberger said.
