It's time for Oktoberfest in Rio Rancho again, and Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce president Jerry Schalow is excited for the new setting.

Previously, the square in front of Brew Lab 101 has been the location for Oktoberfest, but Schalow says the event has outgrown that space.

"Rio Rancho Oktoberfest is one of the most cherished traditions in Rio Rancho. This year looks to be bigger and better. We have outgrown our area in Country Club Plaza and now we are at Sandoval County Administration Park, so attendees can look forward to lots of live music, German cuisine and family-friendly activities," he said.

The event also spans two days this year. Schalow says the Friday evening part of the event will be half the entry price of Saturday. Children also get in free with a paid adult.

He added that the Rio Rancho polka band Die Polkaschlingel will play Saturday.

Oktoberfest will take place at the Sandoval County Administration Park from 4-9 p.m. Sept. 13 and from noon to 10 p.m. Sept. 14.
