RIO RANCHO — From June 18-19, the Rio Rancho High School soccer programs held their annual summer youth camps.

“Biggest camp ever. Lots of excitement and talent among the kids,” Rio Rancho boys soccer head coach John Shepard said.

Young soccer players learned dribbling, passing, shooting and fast breaks from Rio Rancho’s finest.

“Great event for over a hundred kids and teens from the community,” Shepard said.

Shepard has been with RRHS since 2002 and has seen countless campers throughout the years.

A lot of those campers eventually became Ram soccer players.

The team has also been holding voluntary soccer practice for Ram hopefuls throughout the summer in order to prepare for the fall season.

Fans can expect big things from senior midfielder Christian Barricklow, sophomore winger Dashon Bynum and First Team All-State goalie Kenneth Graves in the upcoming season.
